How to get maximum vase life from your red roses

So you just received a gorgeous rose gift from a loved one? Here's our top tips to getting the maximum life from your cut flowers so you can look after your roses like a pro.

1. Put the flower food in the vase with fresh water
2. Recut the stem as soon as they arrive (on a slight angle to increase the absorption)
3. Leave them out of direct sunlight
4. Recut every 2-3 days

Once your roses have reached the end of their life, they can be dried upside down to make petals, pot pourri or scented rose water.
